The Atheneaum Organizer: Dr. David MiddlebrookA much anticipated evening begins... A very elegant evening started at 6:30pm with cocktails in one of the richly decorated private rooms of the club. Dr. David Middlebrook, professor emeritus at Cal Tech, and pioneer of analog technology, gave us a tour of the Athenaeum Club.
Dr. David Middlebrook with his wife Val The dinner that followed was as elegant as the surroundings. Our mouth-watering menu included a baby spinach salad with candied pecans, carmelized onions and basalmic vinaigrette. The main dish was honey and basalmic glazed cornish hen in an orange basil butter. Dessert finished a perfect meal with creme brulee with fresh berries and lace cookies.
Everyone enjoying dinner IEE members continued the evening with a very brief meeting, during which members dicussed upcoming events. After dinner coffee and cocktails were served, while members continued to enjoy the evening. Val Middlebrook shared about her book titled "Defeat Was Never and Option". The evening ended with more exploration of the club, as well as photos of IEE members dressed up in their Christmas best.
